TCU Men’s Basketball

2018-2019 Season Campaign

I partnered with the PAVLOV Agency and Texas Christian University to create illustrations of TCU Basketball’s head coach and starting five. The illustrations were used as the basis for the season kickoff ad campaign as well as the official season poster.

This was the university’s first time using illustration for branded content, so the challenge was to create an art direction that felt bold and new while feeling like an organic extension of their with their regular, photo-driven presence.

After settling on a “funk” theme, we decided to compliment the school’s colors with a splash of bold oranges and reds. In contrast to the almost monochromatic schemes used elsewhere in their branding, this approach felt fresh and drove home the message of a season full of exciting potential.
