I'm Carlos Basabe, a commerical and editorial illustrator based in Rockville, Maryland. I’ve created dynamic and impactful illustrations for brands and stories on behalf of clients such as Buzzfeed News, The Southern Poverty Law Center, Vox and The Washington Post Magazine.
I’m a Cuban-born American, and have lived in Florida and Washington, DC before settling in Maryland. My multicultural background has imbued me with a unique point of view that I carry with into every project. Professionally, I spent the early part of my career working as a sales trainer for Fortune 500 telecommunication firms before deciding to pursue lifelong dream to work full time as a visual storyteller in 2015.
